Security forces discovered a mass grave containing remains of eight persons in Faylaq neighbourhood in Kirkuk.

Kirkuk police spokesman Efrasyaw Kamil said a mass grave was discovered during installation of water pipes in the Faylaq neighbourhood.

According to the information provided by Kamil, remains of eight persons were found in the mass grave. Security forces think that the remains belong to Kurdish victims of Baath regime during the uprising in 1991.

The location of the mass grave is a former Baath military base.
